Hangzhou

So after the other day's drama I needed a break.  When we got to our hotel yesterday afternoon I pretty much stayed in there the rest of the evening.  I just wanted to shower, lay in a comfy bed and watch movies.  So that's exactly what I did, and it was spectacular.  The next day we were ready to head out and explore Hangzhou.  At first I certainly wasn't happy about delaying our final arrival for four days but Hangzhou is an absolutely beautiful city, so in the end I'm glad we got to spend some time here.

Hangzhou is one of the 8 ancient capital cities, it is rich in history and beauty...and it's also pretty dang rich.  Walking down one street by West Lake we saw several car dealerships.  Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, pretty much the most expensive cars you can think of, they can be seen in abundance here. And they drive just as crazy here as they do in Shanghai, you would think that with all these crazy expensive cars on the road you would drive in a little more carefully? Maybe not.

Oh the Chinglish... this made me laugh.

Mixed mushroom dumplings. mmmmm :)

So Hangzhou was pretty much eveything I needed it to be these last couple days, there are actually a few english speaking people here, and many restaurants had their menus printed in Chinese and English. I'm sure it won't be that convenient in Hengdian.  Also I'm sure this was the last taste of luxury I will have in a long time, the town I will be living in is a small "country town" of only about a million people...haha.  Life will be a little less sophisticated there but I'm super excited to get there and make it my new home! :)
